Endodontics
Endodontic
treatment is routinely performed using ‘The Global’
dental operating microscope. This allows a better insight
into the root canal system unique to your tooth enabling better
management of the root canal treatment. It will then provide
us with more information about your tooth thus improving the
predictability and outcome.
Electronic torque controlled drills are used to provide rotary
instrumentation of canals. These provide consistent preparation
of the root canal combined with greatly reduced risk of drill
fracture. Matching sized gutta percha points are then placed
with an appropriate medicament. The remainder of the canal
is then filled using the Obtura system.
The use of enhanced equipment and experience allows us to
undertake a wide variety of more complex endodontic procedures
including; molar canals in older patients, root treatments
under existing crowns and re-root treatments.
Despite these great technological advances we would still
place most of the emphasis of successful root treatment on
appropriate post graduate education and the acquisition of
skills from the best teachers in the country.
